What we have to offer

Pioneers of authentic back-to-back slabs

A grading house built around connection, provenance and display — not isolation.

💎

Exclusive by Design

Born from a desire to move beyond single-card isolation, we pioneered the world’s first authentic back-to-back slabbing service. We don’t just grade cards; we curate relationships. By pairing Cards with their Energy sources, Evolution lines, or battle opponents, we transform individual collectibles into cohesive narratives. With our proprietary in-house grading standards and QR authentication, we ensure that every dual-sided slab is as secure as it is storytelling-rich

🎨The Innovators

✨The Storytellers

🔐The Guardians

Back2Back Cards offers Back to Back Authenticated Collectibles focused on a storytelling connection between each card. We believe every card has a partner waiting to be found. Our mission is to bridge the gap between isolated collectibles and living stories. We are a team of passionate collectors, dedicated to the art of the ‘Connection.’

Each Authentic Slab is unique. We produce limited quantities of each collaboration piece, and once certified, your card receives a one-of-a-kind 9-digit certification code that is permanently linked to its verification page. This ensures exclusivity and permanent provenance tracking.

Authentic Slab: Contains an Original Authentic Card graded on traditional condition criteria (centering, corners, edges, surface). Verifies the card is an official Authentic Back2Back Collects Slab.
Unlike traditional single-sided grading, we specialize in the delicate art of back-to-back encapsulation, ensuring both cards are protected without compromising their condition. Our unique three-tier system—Energy, Connection, and Battle—allows us to tell the full story of a card’s universe. Backed by our in-house graders and instant QR authentication, we provide the security serious collectors demand with the creativity they crave.

The Storytellers:

✓Curated Pairings: Only the most thematic matches.
✓Single-Sided Grading: Assessment for front face side of Cards
✓Digital Trust: Instant QR verification for every slab.

Each piece consists of 2 x Back to Back Graded Cards in a tamper-evident holder and online digital verification/authentication page including a unique ‘connection’ story for each pairing.

The Idea Behind It

Two Fronts. No Bad Angle.

Standard graded slabs seal the back of your card away behind an opaque holder — but let’s be honest, the back’s never an equally valued side. The Artwork, the character, the story - It’s all on the front.

So we flipped the idea. Instead of wasting one side, we brought both to life with two fronts, displayed back to back. Now every angle is worth looking at.

But we didn’t stop at display. We added story. Each pairing is chosen for a reason — an Energy source that powers a Pokémon, an evolution line that tells a journey, or a rivalry that defines an era. The two cards aren’t just sharing a slab. They’re sharing a narrative.

Both Sides Worth Seeing

No wasted space. Two fronts, back to back — every angle is the good angle.

Every Pair Tells a Story

Curated connections between cards — not random pairings, but meaningful relationships.

🔗 Provenance

Stronger Together

Two cards, one slab, one shared provenance. A collectible that's more than the sum of its parts.

What We Do

Back to Back Unique Collectibles

With Energy

Back to Back: ‘With Energy’

The Catalyst Series bridges the gap between raw power and biological form. One side holds a pure, elemental Energy card—the volatile fuel of the universe—while the reverse displays the exact Pokémon forged to channel it. Turn the case to witness the spark; flip it back to witness the definitive strike. It is a live elemental current, frozen mid-execution.

Battle

Back to Back: ‘Battle’

The Battle Series transforms your slab into a literal window to the battlefield. This high-stakes display captures an iconic rivalry freeze-frame, pitting legendary adversaries directly against one another. Flip the capsule to watch the aggressor unleash an overwhelming strike, or reverse it to see the defender bracing against the kinetic shock. It isn’t just a presentation; it is total combat theater.

How It Works

The Grading Process

The Front Only Grading Rubric

🧤

Intake & Debris Extraction

Each card enters our dedicated clean-zone environment. Our team wears powder-free nitrile gloves to shield against fingerprint oils, then uses a manual air blower to safely clear loose surface dust without touching the card face. Minor smudges are gently detailed by hand with a premium microfiber cloth for optimal visual clarity.

Front-Only Grading: We grade only the front face of each card, as this is the only side visible in our featured back-to-back slab display. The reverse side is fully protected within the holder but is not evaluated or graded.

🔍

The Macro-Face Light Audit

Under focused, high-intensity LED illumination, we tilt the front face at a precise 45-degree angle. This forces microscopic surface scratches, factory print lines, and holo-scuffs to cast minute shadows, making them immediately visible. A transparent geometric alignment overlay is then applied to calculate absolute border ratios.

⚖️

The Weakest-Link Guarantee

A card’s final grade cannot exceed its lowest-performing sub-category — Centering, Corners, Edges, or Surface. We don’t average scores; we protect absolute accuracy. A flawless Mint Surface and Mint Corners still yield a Good (GD) if the border Centering is skewed. The final designation stamped onto the slab and recorded in our digital archive reflects the weakest link.
